Now For Something Completely Different

Well after those last couple of posts I need to try to clean up my act.
How about some old time religion.

First Huckabee talks to God on his cell phone.

Talking to one of my friends this morning he mentioned how likable Huckabee is. Yep, got great stage presence and funny often too. Of course the scary part is Huckabee means it. Is it any wonder he surging up in Iowa. Middle America love that folksy down home persona of his. Kinda like your uncle Mike who's always so funny until he's too drunk. Reagan was a great talker too but his domestic programs were awful (do y'all remember Edwin Meese). Huckabee is genuinely likable but who needs a baptist preacher running the country?

Pat(smooch my butt Rudy) Robertson features a little piece on some who have decided the prophecy of Isaiah 35:8 - "And a highway will be there; it will be called the way of holiness." refers to interstate highway I-35.

Oh man! The wingnuts are loose.

Okay that last post yesterday was a joke no matter how politically incorrect.

Fair warning there are links today that really are xxx.

I keep my google search set to unfiltered. The consequences can turn up some weird stuff, like the time I was searching for a drunken clown image and found out there was clown porno, including dwarf clown porno. Well I may have topped that one.

I was searching for images of Teddy Bears (yeah yeah a story in itself, I'm such a sweet guy). I saw this image

and thought, 'Hey this could be funny'.

Well it turns out to be a hardcore gay porn site featuring a guy in a teddy bear outfit having gay sex. WTF. I'm a long standing member of the 'different strokes for different folks' school but this was so weird. Sex with guys and even sex with a guy in a giant squid costume. Wow, that's a turn on for someone? It's like a train wreak, too gory but take a glance.

Obviously it's a commercial site and there is a lot of humor going on, but sometimes kinky is just well so kinky. And what's with that name - Plushie Schwartz? Is he Jewish? Oy vey...

Here's the link - it's nsfw, xxx and gay as Truman Capote snorting coke off an escort's ass at Studio 54.

Haunted by the Dead.

Why have an urn on the mantle?
I've never really understood people that keep the ashes of the deceased around.
Now here is a novel approach.

Disneyland visitors have routinely scattered cremated human remains throughout the haunted house ride since the late 1990s with the most recent incident occurring in the past month, MiceAge reported.

Haunted Mansion ride operators, trained to handle the delicate situation, have caught visitors via surveillance camera dumping ashes from the doom buggy vehicles but have virtually no authority to stop the bizarre ritual, Lutz said. Disneyland security and Anaheim police can do little beyond identify the powder trails as human remains. The offending mourners often slip out the ride exit and disappear into the park.

Time for a Revolution

Well right now he's looking mighty good. A real libertarian. My only issue is pro-choice but I'm okay with his stand. He's a MD that has spent his career delivering babies, I don't see him pandering to the religious right. The republican establishment needs to see there's a large segment of their party that is unhappy with them.

What a pimp!

Real Beauty

From Reuters

RIYADH (Reuters) - A leading authority of Saudi Arabia's hardline school of Islam has condemned camel beauty contests as evil, saying those involved should seek repentance in God.

Camel pageants have become major events in the desert kingdom in recent years as tribes hold ever larger competitions, with bigger prizes and wider publicity.

Delicate females or strapping males which attract the right attention during a show can sell for more than a million riyals (127,000 pounds). Sponsors spent 10 million riyals on prizes for one competition this year.

Hmmmmm. Why do they call the camel the ship of the desert?

In Politics We Trust

That would be the motto now.
It's going up in classrooms in a modified version.

Amazing bit of maneuvering on the part of KHSD board. Well I can see where they came from. In a county with a majority of people professing to be religious (but usually not acting), jerks like Vegas can just eat up people with smears of anti god accusations. Hell that kind of tactic is what got him elected in the first place.
So now it becomes a $12,000 civics lesson. Yeah right. So Vegas and Mettler basically win and Batey and Heindrichs avoid looking like they are against god. Jackie Sullivan continues to grin like the idiot she is. Wonderful.

The truly disturbing part however was that this was all done in secret, brought out at the last minute and voted on without public input on the final poster.

Please try to remember all this when our chance for input comes up. The next time any of these clowns runs for reelection.

By the way Bob Hampton was the lone no vote.

Free Speech

Well this is the serious rant I was going to do yesterday. Two things in the news this week that I thought were good for some unpopular but critical thinking.

First off something that received very little air play except amongst the talking heads of the far-right. A question as to the University of Delaware attempting to enforce pc thinking upon students. Because most of the news I first saw was on highly biased sources I somewhat dismissed it. Then I saw reports elsewhere and finally reports of denial on the part of UD that made me sure there was some truth to it.

UD's residence-hall educational program came under fire this week from the Philadelphia-based Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE), a civil-liberties advocacy group that monitors freedom of speech issues on campuses nationally. Some parents and Jan Blits, a professor in UD's freshman honors program and president of the Delaware Association of Scholars, brought the program to FIRE's attention. Blits called for the university to abandon its "illegal attempt to change the attitudes, beliefs, and actions of students."

The program, which is about 4 years old, includes one-on-one meetings between students and resident assistants as well as group sessions, where a wide range of topics including race relations and sexual identity are discussed.
In a letter to FIRE posted on UD's Web site, Michael Gilbert, vice president for student life, said the program was misrepresented by FIRE and that some objections were based on statements taken out of context from an August training session for resident assistants. But Gilbert also acknowledged that some approaches used by staff members were "missteps" and some language -- including references to student response to "treatment" -- could be misunderstood.
Aldrich said other exercises made many students feel uncomfortable. In one, she said, students were asked if they approved of such things as affirmative action or gay marriage. If they did, they would join students on one side of the room. If they didn't, they would join students on the other side of the room. They were not permitted to explain their reasons or to answer "I don't know," she said.

"We had a strong urge to debate back and forth, tell each other why we chose this and sort out each other's views," she said. "But at the end, we were told the exercise was designed so that we could not have debate, that a lot of times in life you don't have the opportunity to express your opinion. There was a lot of pent-up tension from that."

I'm amazed when seemingly liberal intelligent people attempt to label the opinions of others as wrong and then try to censor them. If you're a real believer in what you say then let the opposition speak, surely your arguments can stand up. Universities have become some of the worst offenders oddly enough. Places that once claimed to be the bastions of free speech have run amok. But it's just as much a rightwing tactic too. Our elected official no long face the wrath of protesters. Their handlers manage to create the Orwellian 'Free Speech Zone', a fenced in area located away from the adoring supporters. It's for their safety you know.

The most troubling story however was the $11 million dollar judgment against Fred Phelps and his Westboro Baptist Church.

There is no way for me to express my total and complete disdain for this scum. He's a nut job. His opinions are abhorred by practically everyone no matter what your political leanings may be.

But the judgment handed down this week is wrong. It's all feel good. It will probably get overturned. It's a free speech issue that even when almost everyone is opposed to you you still have the right to be a fool. I know there are lots who will argue with me that it's hate speech and that isn't free speech. Oh, and who will decide that? Government? Please, that's exactly how you lose those rights.
There are ways to combat idiots.

That's The Patriot Guard. A group of bikers (many veterans) who turn out to counter Phelps and shield the families from him.

BTW Veterans Day comes up on the 11th of this month. In spite of what you may think of war or the military in general, individual soldiers deserve our respect. Most of them are just the grunts doing the work, risking their lives and far too often dieing for the rest of us.

Let's Be Serious

Well I was going to, but there's just some stuff too funny to bypass today

Future leader of Oz

Well at least it wasn't his nose.

Singapore Airlines wants to rent you a suite with a bed for a mere $12k but insists you use it only for sleeping...

Singapore Airlines has asked cash-flush customers to refrain from making the beast with two backs while enjoying its A380 private suites between Singapore and Sydney, Reuters reports.

The airline's shiny new aircraft boasts 12 such suites with double beds, but the company has slapped a ban on couples joining the mile-high club during the seven-hour jaunt.
Indeed, Tony Elwood, who enjoyed some king-sized luxury on the inaugural flight with missus Julie, said: “So they’ll sell you a double bed, and give you privacy and endless champagne and then say you can’t do what comes naturally?"

And finally be sure to watch the whole thing.
40 secs of fun but you need the ending

Ya gotta love that phone ringing the whole time and his coworker just ignoring him.
All work and no play.....
