Flag Burning

Well a little sense prevailed and the Senate failed by one vote.

I brought this up a year ago, here & here.

So a repeat of this is in order too. Wave it proud.

In God We Trust

All others pay cash.

Jacquie Sullivan continues to promote her religion rather than do anything that amounts to real government.
Today's Californian has an article about a ruling dismissing Michael Newdow's suit against the 'In God We Trust' displays and this seems to make JS legit, at least in her narrow mind.

Brad Dacus, president of the Pacific Justice Institute, which litigated against Newdow, said in a news release, "For the sake of our posterity and the preservation of our unique history as a nation, we are committed to defending the national motto as long as it takes."

Uh, the original national motto is
E Pluribus Unum

(from many - one)
Fucking zealots

XWORD

Man I cooked on the LA Times crossword today.

Either I'm gettin' good or they're makin' it too easy.
Yes, I use regular player mode (wrong letters show up in red).
Usually they take me about 30 min and yeah I occassionaly ask for a letter or word.
Not today.

A Prediction

"Not even with a get out of jail free card."

And the question is
"Will Mack Wimbish win the sheriff runoff?"

While he had the highest number of votes, almost 75% voted against him.
He better get the faithful charged. Maybe he should start supporting the Amendment to Save Marriage.

The Perfect Motto

I spotted this online this morning.

"There is no patch for stupidity."

Great for us computer geeks.

I'm great at spotting stupid. I shave every morning.

Evolution of a Republican

From :http://www.myconfinedspace.com/

And in case you wonder, I'm a Republican, but I don't much care anymore. It's not the same party I joined 30+ years ago. My only hope is that the moderate libertarians such as myself get rid of the current corp of assholes in there.

VOTE!

Rehash

Well we're coming up on 06/06/06, like I mentioned back in April.
Lets see, a remake of The Omen. Election day. Sammy tomorrow. Looks okay to me.

Oh and Election day. This from back in Oct 2004.

If you are part of a society that votes, then do so. There may be no candidates and no measures you want to vote for ... but there are certain to be ones you want to vote against. By this rule you will rarely go wrong.
-- Robert Heinlein's "The Notebooks of Lazarus Long," in his masterpiece Time Enough For Love.

Reports are saying 4 in 10 might vote tomorrow.
One fellow I read says that we should stop income tax withholding and make everyone's total tax bill due on April 15th, then have the election the following Tuesday. Sounds right to me.

Weekend news, Car Into House in Oildale.
Reminds me of this post about a year ago.
